The Braithwaite Hall is part of the municipal buildings complex built between 1892 and 1896. The complex comprises the eponymous clock tower, town hall, library and corn exchange. In recent years the Braithwaite Hall has served Croydon as a multidisciplinary arts centre. However, theatre use ceased in the Braithwate Hall in 2011 following funding cuts. The museum and galleries, library and caféemain open.
