Details

The Regal was built on the site of the Cinema Palace (1909, demolished 1931). Brown brick, with faience façe. Foyer and auditorium have coffered ceilings, and decoration of Deco panels, fluted columns, and proscenium with Greek key design. Many original light fittings remain, and the attached ballroom its almost totally original, not having (in 2003) been decorated since 1959.
