The over-arching mission of the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse is to create theatre of the highest quality which is firmly rooted in our community, yet both national and international in scope and ambition. The Everyman occupies a former chapel then cinema, now thrust format theatre that can be both intimate and epic. The Playhouse is the 1911 Liverpool Repertory Theatre adaptation of the 1866 Star Theatre together with a 1968 extension, all listed Grade II. Both theatres are poorly equipped for 21st Century productions and audiences and an ambitious redevelopment and refurbishment project is planned, led by architect Steve Tompkins.

The London Opera Glass Company provides useful, little, red opera glasses to the majority of Britain’s major theatres. They cost nothing to install, or maintain and are enormously popular among adults, and children love them too -especially when there’s unusual visual content to the show. The true benefit of our opera glasses is that they are always available to the theatre-patrons, reachable on impulse during performances. And they also earn theatres a useful cash commission, paid every quarter to the theatre or directly to a charity of choice such as The Theatres Trust.
