Exterior of the Borough Theatre, Stratford, circa 1907
  • Description
Photograph of a colour-tinted postcard showing the façade and side elevation of the Borough Theatre on Stratford Broadway in London. The theatre’s façade lies on a curved corner, with a canopy over the main entrance at its base, and a corner cupola at the top. The name 'Fredericks' appears just below the cupola. The sidewall, a large block in three major bays and five storeys, dominates the left hand side of the postcard. Another, smaller, canopy stretches the length of the sidewall with signage advertising ‘Swiss Express’ visible at street-level.
