This programme cover, with the handwritten date 31/10/1928, shows a stylised colour painting by Paul Chesney of the exterior of the London Hippodrome at night. The entrance from Charing Cross Road is surmounted by illuminated lights advertising the name of the theatre and a Moss Empires production of That’s a Good Girl with Jack Buchanan, Elsie Randolph and Kate Cutler. Little of the theatre’s architectural detail is visible but the tower with statuary and an iron dome crowned with rearing horses can be seen.
