  • Description
Colour photograph showing the façade and sidewall of the MGM Cinema, formerly the ABC Theatre, in Blackpool. Taken from across the triangular junction on Church Street, it shows a blue and white panelled façade dominating the left hand side, with the plain white and grey King Street sidewall, incorporating the former stage door and get-in, to the right. A shallow canopy advertising three films covers the main entrance on the far left of the photograph. The building contains no obvious visual memory of the original brick theatre having been redesigned in 1963 by C J Foster. The cinema closed in 1998 and subsequently re-opened in December 2002 as a nightclub.
