  • Description
Colour photograph showing the façade of the Hippodrome within a streetscape of St Augustine’s Parade in Bristol. Taken from across the road it shows a row of high street shops with the Hippodrome occupying the central block. The three-storey façade is divided into two, with the block on the right containing the main entrance and a slightly recessed opening at first and second floor level. The opening contains two columns framing windows on both levels with the name HIPPODROME flanked by decoration above. The block to the left is a plain version of its neighbour with the windows being the only features that are repeated. A burger bar occupies the ground floor. ‘Me And My Girl’, starring Andrew O’Conner and Rebecca Thornhill, is advertised across a canopy that extends the width of both blocks, and again on a poster attached to the first floor of the entrance block.
