Colour-tinted postcard showing the façade and a side wall of the New Cross Empire Theatre within a streetscape of New Cross Road in London. The theatre dominates the centre of the postcard, with its canopy above the main entrance, five large circular windows and two corner towers with a lone statue perching on the top of each. The name EMPIRE appears in lights just above EMPIRE VARIETY THEATRE towards the top of the façade. The exposed sidewall has a balustraded balcony on the first floor. Advertising signage can be seen at street-level.
