  • Description
Colour photograph showing the façade of a bingo hall, formerly the Art Picture House, in Bury. Taken from across Haymarket Street, it shows a symmetrical three-storey elevation in five major bays with the wide centre containing a large arched window between pilasters leading up to entablature, and crowned by stepped pedimental parapets, all in white faience. The single word ART appears in red tablature on the pediment, with ART PICTURES and ART CAFÉ at second floor level either side. Pilasters on the outer bays lead up to stepped parapets with filled-in circular windows below. A canopy covers the main entrance.
