Details

A red brick building at the junction of North Street and Newbold Road. Pitched roof and fly tower. Quite plain auditorium with barrel vaulted ceiling. Shallow curved circle front. Workable depth of stage (stripped of counterweights) only 6.4m (21ft). Used for pop concerts until 1970s. Although used for bingo, restoration to theatre use would be possible but for the vast, impersonal and cold auditorium which is not to its advantage.
