Details

Large cinema theatre opened in 1912. Exterior brick with darker brick and dark stone dressings in Italian style. Façe three bays, the central bay advanced with entrances and side exits, shallow rounded gable. Outer bays towers with attic balustrade and domes each side, high central gable. The interior was two-tier with a large proscenium stage. No further description found. Live shows continued into the 1950s, possibly for longer. Subdivided for bingo, but possibly in the former cafe area. It was demolished in 1987, and the site redeveloped for offices.
