The Mackintosh Foundation supports Small Grants Programme

Theatres Trust is hugely grateful to The Mackintosh Foundation for its generous funding of our Small Grants Programme, also supported by The Linbury Trust.

The Mackintosh Foundation has committed £150,000 over a five-year period towards our Small Grants Programme.

This will enable us to fund more theatres through the scheme, which offers grants of up to £5,000 to small projects that make a big impact to a theatre’s resilience, sustainability, accessibility, and inclusion.

The Mackintosh Foundation has funded two previous Theatres Trust grant schemes, London Small Theatres Grant Scheme (2015–2020) and the Theatre Reopening Fund (2020–2021).

Nicholas Mackintosh, Appeals Director of The Mackintosh Foundation says “The Mackintosh Foundation is thrilled to continue its long-term association with the Theatres Trust. The UK is a world leader in live theatre thanks to the many and varied theatres across the country. We are delighted to play a part in helping theatres to thrive.”

Launched in 2021 with support from The Linbury Trust and since receiving additional donations from Judy Craymer CBE and Charles Michael Holloway Charitable Trust, the grant scheme has so far supported 37 theatres with vital projects.

The deadline for the current round is 13 January 2023 and thanks to The Mackintosh Foundation’s support, we will be able to fund even more theatres in this round.
