  • Trust objects to Colchester Odeon/Regal demolition

    The Trust objected to a proposal to demolish the Odeon which originally opened as the Regal and was designed by prominent architect Cecil Massey. There is an existing permission for residential use which retains the building's facade and foyer.

  • Govan Lyceum to be restored as cinema, performance venue & restaurant

    The Trust welcomed exciting proposals to bring the Lyceum in Govan, Glasgow back to use but we were unable to support permission due to a lack of supporting information and no assessment of impact on the building's historic features.

  • Window alterations at Norwich Arts Centre

    The Trust supported proposals to remove boards blocking light into the Grade I listed Arts Centre's auditorium to allow it to be used for a wider range of events, with associated alterations and acoustic works.

  • Replacement windows at London's Piccadilly Theatre

    The Trust supported an application to repair and replace windows at the Piccadilly Theatre in London's West End.

  • Trust objects to demolition of Waterside Theatre

    The Trust objected to a proposal to demolish the Waterside Theatre in Holbury on the edge of the New Forest. It has unique history having been built by Esso in 1950, and was actively used until it closed in 2017 following the winding up of its owner.

  • Accessibility improvements and new signage at Aberdeen Arts Centre

    The Trust supported proposals for the installation of new platform lifts and an accessible WC within the Category A listed Arts Centre, along with replacement signage.

  • Residential development next to Croydon's Fairfield Halls

    The Trust raised no objections to the principle of a new residential scheme including a cultural hub adjacent to Fairfield Halls, but requested acoustic conditions to prevent noise conflict with the theatre's service yard.

  • Bar proposal for Exeter's former Bike Shed Theatre

    The Trust objected to an application for change of use to a bar at the Bike Shed Theatre, a small 50-seat venue, citing insufficient evidence theatre use could not continue. The theatre closed in March 2018.

  • Telecoms equipment for Morecambe's Alhambra

    The Trust raised no objection to updated telecoms equipment on the roof of the Alhambra in Morecambe. Some theatre and live events have returned to the building in recent years after it was converted to a nightclub following a devastating fire in 1970.

  • Trust objects to Burnt Oak Savoy development

    The Trust raised objection to the part-demolition and extension of the Grade II listed Savoy in Burnt Oak, London Borough of Brent due to insufficient evidence continued cultural or community use cannot be viable and for design and heritage concerns.

  • Temporary food stands outside National Theatre

    The Trust supported a temporary proposal for food stalls outside the National Theatre on London's South Bank. Similar events have been held in previous summer seasons.

  • Trust supports restoration of Walthamstow Granada

    The Trust has supported an application for restoration of the Granada, on its Theatres at Risk register and a flagship project for Waltham Forest's Borough of Culture, bringing the building back to use for theatre and community space.
