  • Supported housing scheme to rear of Theatr Colwyn

    The Trust raised no objections to the principle of residential development adjacent to Theatr Colwyn but sought conditions requiring an acoustic assessment and construction management plan to avoid impacts on the theatre.

  • Demolition & redevelopment of Rotherham's former Regal/Scala

    The Trust objected to demolition and redevelopmen of the former Regal due to no evidence of attempt to use the building for alternative community/cultural use and loss of heritage. It had been in bingo use until Covid-19 closure in March 2020.

  • New signage and lighting at Bathgate's Regal Community Theatre

    The Trust supported advertisement consent for new signage and lighting at the Regal, associated with a previous application for repairs and redecoration.

  • Extension to allow performances at Tinderbox Performing Arts Centre

    The Trust supported an application for a minor extension which will allow an existing studio to be used for small-scale public performances at the performing arts centre on the edge of Darley Dale, Derbyshire.

  • Solar panels on roof of Unicorn Theatre

    The Trust welcomed proposals for solar panels to be installed above the Unicorn Theatre in London Borough of Southwark, having supported the works through a grant in 2020.

  • New theatre part of Brighton College development

    The Trust supported a proposal to include a theatre within the College's new Performing Arts Centre, which although primarily for educational purposes will be opened for some public use.

  • Extension for The Grange Festival

    The Trust welcomed proposals for an extension to The Grange in Northington, Hampshire which will provide the theatre with permanent toilets, improved backstage and additional facilities.

  • Alterations at London's Playhouse Theatre

    The Trust supported proposals for internal alterations to facilitate an in-the-round set up and cabaret seating for a forthcoming run of shows, along with improved front of house facilities and better accessibility.

  • Alterations for Norwich's Curious Directive

    The Trust supported proposals for alterations within the St Simon & St Jude Church which is the home of science-based theatre company curious directive. This will enable them to use the building for public performances.

  • Temporary offices outside Newbury's Watermill Theatre

    The Trust supported temporary permission for cabins to be installed outside the theatre to provide office space for staff which meets social-distancing needs.

  • New auditorium space part of Lewisham redevelopment

    The Trust raised no objection to an auditorium space within a major new development which is primarily housing a church but could be used for performances, although we cautioned without backstage facilities opportunities for this would be limited.

  • Change of use and restoration of Grays' vacant State Cinema

    The Trust supported the principle of pub use within the Grade II* listed State which has been vacant for around 20 years, but raised some concern regarding alterations proposed.
