Drawing on the experiences of the 48 venues involved in Ecovenue, The Theatres Trust’s European Regional Development Fund-backed sustainability project, we present practical tips and practices for improving the environmental performance of theatre and performing arts buildings.

From technical methods on getting the most out of your building’s systems to communicating your goals and achievements to your venue’s users. We will also be looking at how detailed monitoring of energy distribution systems can bring big gains, and how the evolution of stage technologies has affected power use within theatres. This session draws on first hand experience to bring relevant information to the end users of buildings.
Attendees are invited to join us on The Theatres Trust stand (2-M14) in the afternoon for the presentation of the People’s Choice Award 2011, for theatre equipment its manufacturers believe is making a difference to sustainability, either by design, manufacture or operation.
