Press Release: A final call for cultural responses to NPPF – The Theatres Trust’s Submission

14th October 2011

For immediate release. Consultations on the Government’s draft National Planning Policy Framework close on Monday 17 October. The draft is currently silent on culture, the arts and theatres.

We need to make a strong case for their inclusion and we urge you to respond before the deadline. Please copy your response directly to Greg Clark MP, Ed Vaizey MP and Jeremy Hunt MP.

The Trust’s submission updates its ‘Culture and the draft National Planning Policy Framework Paper’ produced in September particularly in light of an amendment on the Localism Bill made on 10 October (Clause 76: Land of community value, Amendment 202F, Column 1466) and responses made by those concerned about provision for cultural, arts and theatres in planning policy including the Arts Council England and the national arts organisations who signed a joint letter to the Sunday Telegraph on 2 October 2011.
