The Theatres Trust will present its first People’s Choice Award on its Ecovenue stand (2-M28) at PLASA2010, Earls Court on Tuesday 14 September 2010 at 6.00pm. Promoting best practice in sustainable theatre technology, this award will be selected by visitors to PLASA 2010 from lighting and stage equipment used to illuminate an exhibition outlining the work of The Theatres Trust’s Ecovenue project.

Theatres Trust response to DCMS Written Ministerial Statement

“In recognition of the important role of The Theatres Trust, we are pleased to have received the assurance that we will continue as the national advisory public body for theatres, operating as an independent statutory advisory body. The Theatres Trust remains a body corporate and the objects of The Theatres Trust Act 1976 and The Theatres Trust (Scotland) Act 1978 will remain in force.

The Theatres Trust announces the first twelve venues participating in its European Regional Development Fund backed environmental sustainability project, Ecovenue. Ecovenue aims to make a real difference to the environmental performance of 48 London theatres, leading the way in promoting the reduction of carbon emissions.
