As the National Advisory Public Body for Theatres, The Theatres Trust is the government’s adviser on theatres. We provide advice, and can signpost you to other resources and guidance.
Ecovenue
The Trust is committed to achieving sustainability for theatre buildings to protect theatre use. Following our successful Conference 08, Building Sustainable Theatres and helping to develop the Mayor of London’s Green Theatre Plan in 2008, the Trust is running a three year project, Ecovenue, providing environmental improvement advice to 48 London theatres.
Exploring Theatres
Exploring Theatres is the Trust’s online learning resource. This section includes an introduction to theatre buildings and features downloadable resources for teachers. Exploring Theatres was launched on the 23rd April 2008.
Theatres database
Our theatres database holds architectural and historic information on over 1400 theatres and is constantly being updated. We welcome your comments and suggestions to enable us to keep our theatres records up to date and to expand the breadth of information available.

You can search over 2000 images of theatre interior and exteriors in our new image library. All the images are the copyright of The Theatres Trust, except where stated.
TM Theatres Magazine
TM is the quarterly magazine on theatres, published by The Theatres Trust. Each issue contains a mixture of features, reports, opinion, news and profiles, highlighting important developments and debates. Find out whats in the current issue.
TBAR Theatre Buildings at Risk
The Theatre Buildings at Risk register highlights theatres that have been abandoned and those suffering neglect under the hands of their owners. The Trust’s 2011 register was published on 14 July 2011. Find out why we have one, how it is compiled and which theatres made the top theatres at risk this year
Resource Centre
In January 2010 we opened new facilities on the first floor of 22 Charing Cross Road. These house our archive, provide a dedicated space to access our Theatre Archives, Reference Library and provide a dedicated Meeting Room. Find out more
