Culture Recovery Fund second round recipients announced

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has announced detalis of the £400m in grants and loans awarded through the second round of the Culture Recovery Fund.

Theatres Trust Director Jon Morgan says:

"Theatres Trust is pleased to see further grants for theatres in England in the latest round of the Culture Recovery Fund and that this round will provide support until the end of June as theatres have had to remain closed for far longer than anyone could have originally anticipated.

"Before the pandemic hit, theatres played an important role in communities everywhere. More than 34million people attend theatres in the UK each year, generating £1.28bn in ticket revenue. It is crucial to the social, cultural and economic wellbeing of the country that our theatres survive this crisis and can contribute to its recovery. It is therefore important that theatres continue to receive support until they can reopen viably".
