Theatres and performing arts venues nominated for RIBA 2026 Awards

Five theatres and cultural venues have been shortlisted for this year's regional awards. 

The Institute of British Architects (RIBA) presents the annual UK Regional Awards to celebrate great architectural design that enhances people's lives across the eleven RIBA regions. The 2026 shortlist features several theatres and performing arts venues. 

RIBA London

Sadler's Wells East by O'Donnell + Tuomey 

SPID Theatre, Kensal House Community Rooms by Studio Sam Causer

RIBA South West and Wessex

Bristol Beacon by Levitt Bernstein

RIBA East 

BEAM by Bennetts Associates 

RIBA South East

The Richard Cairns Building, Brighton College by KRFT Architecture studio & Nicholas Hare Architects

Congratulations to all those involved in the design and delivery of these nominated projects. Winners of the UK Regional Awards will be announced in May.

A huge congratulations to the following projects which won in their respective categories at the RIBA UK Regional Awards 2026:

  • BEAM by Bennetts Associates 

A special mention goes to Bennetts Associate's BEAM project which was found outstanding by RIBA judges and is now shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2026 for the UK's best new building. The winner of the Stirling Prize 2026 will be announced in October.
