Lawful Development Certificate for gym use at the Amulet refused
We welcome the news that Somerset Council has refused the building owner’s application for a Lawful Development Certificate for gym use at Theatre at Risk, the Amulet.
We made the case that the application was ineligible on the grounds that the building had not been in continuous use as a gym for the minimum threshold of ten years.
We also noted that in any case the building has been in a mixed-use having been open for events in its foyer last year and would therefore not be considered as a 'Class E' commercial unit. Read our full response.
