Call-out for webinar speakers
Would you like to share your insights into resilience and/or community engagement with theatre sector colleagues?
We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals working in theatres across the UK who have something to say about the role that resilience and/or local community engagement plays in how their theatre building is developed, run or managed. We want to hear from those who have an interesting or different perspective about either or both of these topics. For example;
- how has your organisation adapted to external challenges?
- how do you build resilience while nurturing creativity and innovation?
- what methods have you used to engage local communities?
- have you succeeded in attracting new and/or diverse communities?
- how do local communities engage with your theatre?
If selected to speak at the webinar, it will be an opportunity for you to share your knowledge and perspective with the wider sector and take part in the audience Q&A.
More about the webinar
The webinar will be held on Thursday 20 or Friday 21 November and will be the final in a series we have been running since 2023, offering introductory level talks about topics from governance and fundraising to sustainability and theatre operations. You can view previous webinars and accompanying slides here. The webinar series is part of Resilient Theatres: Resilient Communities, a three-year pilot programme launched in Autumn 2022.
The webinar date will be confirmed by the end of September once we have confirmed speakers. It will run 12-1pm, followed by 30 minutes audience Q&A and each speaker will be asked to talk for 10-15 mins.
Expressions of interest
If this sounds of interest, please send your expression of interest by midnight Tuesday 5 August to the Resilient Theatres: Resilient Communities Training Producer Devina Kumar on devina.kumar@theatrestrust.org.uk.
Please include a bit about you, your theatre (e.g. venue capacity, operating model - voluntary, commercial, local authority run, subsidised - and organisation size), and a summary of what you’d like to express or share about resilience or local community engagement (or both, if they relate to each other) and why.
If your talk summary sounds like it could be suitable for the webinar, we will contact you during the first half of August to discuss it further.
